Who we are?
We are three midwives, mothers and International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) working as clinical midwife specialists in a busy Dublin maternity hospital. IBCLCs represent the pinnacle of accredited healthcare professionals with a specialisation in lactation.
We are passionate about breastfeeding and supporting mothers to breastfeed their babies with as much ease as possible through antenatal education and postnatal support.
Through our work with Mother’s and their babies from the moments after birth and right up until weaning, we have seen some of the challenges women face.
Many companies in Ireland now support staff with wellness packages designed to meet the needs of their employees. It is through the work we have done with Mothers and their baby’s and in response to their needs that we founded The Lactation Lounge. We believe that businesses care about staff well-being and The Lactation Lounge is a step in the right direction for families today.
Evidence suggests that when women feel supported to breastfeed their baby’s, companies retain them for longer, they also have fewer sick days and have an increased sense of satisfaction in their jobs. Please see links to this evidence.
We welcome bookings from male/female predominant business too. We know from evidence that the support of partners can be instrumental in women’s success in breastfeeding.
We are open to discussion with regards to plans and pricing. We work with your company to fill the financial gap in insurance cover for lactation support.
If your workplace participates in wellness packages and you would like to know more about us, feel free to contact us for a free trial.
